Purpose

To provide an up to date matrix of the Drive firmware versions available for the FS1-2.

Scope

This document is a quick reference table to show the dependencies between software versions, drive firmware versions and the drive hardware for the FS1-2 Storage System. It is intended for customers as well as Oracle service and support personnel.

Details

The matrix below provides the details on drive firmware versions. Media Type indicates whether the drive is HDD (Hard Disk Drive) or SSD (Solid State Drive). Capacity and Model columns are self-explanatory. The Drive Type (GUI) column shows how this drive will appear in the Oracle FS System Manager GUI Software and Firmware display from the Support tab. The Minimum Supported Release is the FS1-2 software version in which a drive firmware version was first introduced. The FS1-2 Release History shows the Releases where new drive firmware versions were released. Unless otherwise noted, those same versions will be carried forward in future releases.

¹ Package name change only - Drive firmware is unchanged.

²R6.2.8 was a controlled release. This firmware is available in R6.2.9.

³ R6.2.12 and R6.2.13 are controlled releases - do NOT install these drive firmware versions. These versions will be removed in the R6.2.14 release.

NOTE: Keeping the drive firmware version up to date is critical. As of R6.2.4 drive replacements as well as adding new Drive Enclosures may fail if the latest versions are not installed on the FS1-2 Pilots.

There are two methods to determine the current version of Drive Firmware in your FS1-2:

Oracle FS System Manager (GUI):

From the System tab, expand Hardware and then select Drive Enclosures.
Right click on the Drive Enclosure you wish to examine and then select "View".
One by one click on the the individual drives in that Drive Enclosure noting the Firmware Number on the right:
Repeat for other Drive Enclosures as needed.

Command Line (fscli):
