Details

 Type

Hardware Fault

fault.chassis.voltage.failing-nc

Severity

Critical

Description

A voltage reading on a board has been measured outside the threshold for a second time.

Automated Response

The system will be powered cycled.

Impact

The system will be powered cycled. No service is required.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

Event lists and/or ereports for both the temperature and voltage thresholds will not report or take any action on the upper or lower non-critical temperature thresholds, as the system will not have a chance to poll when this alarm is asserted.

By default, it takes approximately 5 seconds for sensor polling.  In order to poll 3 readings: upper non-critical, upper critical and upper non-recoverable thresholds, it would take more than 30 seconds.

Please refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required.
