Purpose

Provide additional information for message ID: ILOM-8000-EM

Details

Type: Alert

   alert.ilom.fm.ip-transport.interconnect-down

Severity: Major

Description:

On host startup, the host fault manager is unable to use the Ethernet over USB (EoUSB) interconnect between the host and the Service Processor (SP).

Automated Response:

A corresponding diagnosis of this problem may also occur on the host, under message id FMD-8000-D6.

The host will retry the connection transaction, as there is a possibility that the fault manager on the host has started before configuration of the EoUSB interconnect has completed.

Impact:

Various functions which use the Service Processor interconnect will not be operational. The host fault manager and Service Processor ILOM fault manager will not be able to report total system health.

Suggested Action for System Administrators:

This event is essentially informational in nature and may not indicate a fault or problem in the product that requires any specific administrative or service action to be taken in response. However, if the problem persists and the EoUSB interconnect is deemed to be non-functional, refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required:

NOTE: This message ID will not result in a service request being automatically submitted by ASR.
