Purpose

Collecting performance data may be needed at some point in time.

Scope

This document explains how to upload the workflow and run it when the performance issue is visible.

Details

It is important to run the workflow WHEN the performance issue is visible.

Login to the Appliance BUI as "root" and then go to

'Maintenance Workflows'

 Gathering-0

Click '+' to add a new workflow.

Gathering-1

'Choose file' and Upload the GUDS workflow that was provided as an attachment to your SR from My Oracle Support.

NOTE: The attached workflow is running GUDS with options: -c2 -H0 -i2 -n1 ... which means it would run for about 2*2*1 =4 seconds

That is much less than defaults for GUDS and in order to be more effective it does require a manual edit of the workflow before uploading it to the customer system.

The workflow can be changed to use options that allow longer execution time, eg. 15 minutes or alternatively to attach multiple version of the workflow with different execution times, eg. one for 15 minutes, another for 30 minutes etc.

Or upload it from here.

Gathering-2

Once uploaded, click on the GUDS workflow itself, that is displayed in the list. Enter the fields required.

Gathering-3

The workflow is running and collecting performance data.

Gathering-4

Gathering-5

Once done, collect a bundle in 'maintenance system sendbundle' tab, GUDS output will be automatically added to the default data from the bundle.
