Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

During attempt to deploy an ISO image on an Oracle Database Appliance you might encounter the error: "Unable to download the kickstart file".

Details

The issue is rare and is caused by slow or interrupted network between the machine being imaged and the machine where the ISO Image is stored. Because of the interruption, the link to the CR_ROM Image is lost. You can check this in the console window, if the box next to CR-ROM Image is un-ticked, the error will occur:

Solution:

To resolve the situation ensure your network connection has no issues, one workaround is to move the ISO image to another machine.

If your network has no issues or you have no other machine available, you can as well re-select the ISO under CD-ROM Image and click OK. After the correction, the kickstart file will be found and the process will perform the remaining actions.
