Solution Type Predictive Self-Healing Sure Solution 2046703.1 : FS System: Passwords Associated with the Oracle FS1-2 Flash Storage System
In this Document
Applies to:Oracle FS1-2 Flash Storage System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]Information in this document applies to any platform. PurposeThis document explains and describes the various passwords associated with the FS1-2 Scope
DetailsThe Oracle FS1-2 Flash Storage System has several passwords associated with it. And while all of them are under the direct control of customers, a certain level of understanding is necessary for the continued proper operation of the FS1-2. For the purposes of this document, passwords will be divided into two categories, those that can be changed and those that can't.
1If either the administrator or pillar passwords are lost or forgotten, use the forgot or reset password options in the GUI or CLI to recover. If neither of these work, please contact Oracle Support for further assistance. 2The pillar or support account was created for work to be done by Oracle Support. As such it does not have the ability to make changes to the FS1-2 configuration or access to data. 3 The FSPM password is encrypted and changes with each use. It's only purpose is to establish the information needed between the data host and FS1-2 for monitoring the path.
Changing either the Pilot or Pilot/Controller ILOM passwords will interfere with their ability to interact with other FS1-2 components and thus could have a negative impact on the overall system. Remote access to the Pilot, and thus Pilot/Controller ILOM, can only established by enabling ssh to the Pilot. This, in turn, is controlled by an fscli command line interface and requires the administrator login credentials. Refer to <Document 2029847.1> FS System: How to Enable SSH Access to the Pilot for more details.
NOTE: Non-disruptive password recovery is possible for any non-root or ILOM logins. If root or ILOM passwords are changed and forgotten, it may be necessary to reset the configuration to recover and thus requiring a complete restoration of data & configuration from backups.
