Purpose

This document provides information about Hardware parts replacements and upgrades in Exalogic rack.

Details

All the Hardware replaceable units in Exalogic racks are FRUs (field replaceable units). FRUs are installed by trained Oracle field technicians.

So any hardware tasks like replacing DIMMs, HCA, Power supply, Upgrading or adding additional memory should only be done by Oracle field technicians.

FRU installations should NOT be done by Customer themselves.

Doing FRU installations without engaging Oracle field technicians is NOT supported.
