Facts:
Processors
- Up to two Intel Xeon processors E5-2600 v3 Series (Haswell-EP) CPU's
- E5-2699 v3 @ 2.3Ghz Intel, 18-core, 45MB L3 cache, 145W
- 2 Integrated DDR4 Memory Controllers per processor with 4x channels per processor, up to 3x DIMMs per channel,
- Haswell-EP CPUs also incorporate Integrated Voltage Regulators (IVR)
- Intel Quick-Path Interconnect (QPI) architecture for inter-CPU communication 9.6Gt/sec, Digital Media Interface (DMI) chip-to-chip connection to the Wellsburg PCH.
- DMI is a high-speed interface which integrates advanced priority-based servicing allowing for concurrent traffic and true isochronous transfer capabilities.
- 8, 10, 12, or 18 Core CPUs with Turbo Boost mode and Hyper-Threading Chipset
- dual-threaded Haswell cores
Memory
- Up to 12x DIMMs per processor for a maximum of 24x DDR4 2133Mhz RDIMM/LRDIMMs, a maximum of 768GB of memory in dual-processor systems.
- A maximum of 12x DIMMs for a maximum of 384GB in single-processor systems.
- Each CPU controller has 2 Integrated Memory Controllers (IMC) with 2 Home Agent (HA) data buffers
- Each Home Agent (HA) buffer has 2 DDR4 DIMM channels, supporting 3 DIMMs per channel with speeds up to 2133MT/s.
- DRAM speeds of 1333, 1600, 1867,and 2133 depnding upon configuration and memory type.
- 16 or 32GB DIMM size capacity
Disks & Storage
- NX5-2 comes in two storage configurations
- The disk connectors in disk bays 0, 1, 2, and 3 are dual technology connectors. When a SAS device is plugged in, the SAS portion of the connector will drive the SAS device. If that SAS device is removed and replaced with a NVMe device, the NVMe switch card will now drive the NVMe SSD. If a customer orders the NVMe solution, both the SAS and NVMe cables will be installed to the disk backplane. At this time, NVMe is not a bootable solution.
- 6 disk config:
- 6x 2.5" 600GB SAS3, or 1.2GB SAS3 HDD hot-swappable with RAID enabled
- 6x 2.5" 400GB SSD SAS3 drives hot-swappable with RAID enabled
- 4x drives can optionally be NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD 1.6TB drives (slots 0, 1, 2, and 3 only - NOT BOOTABLE), through SAS3 switch card only
- Optional DVD

- 8 disk config:
- 8x 2.5" 600GB SAS3, or 1.2GB SAS3 HDD hot-swappable with RAID enabled
- 8x 2.5" 400GB SSD SAS3 Drives hot-swappable with RAID enables
- 4x drives can optionally be NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD 1.6TB drives (slots 0, 1, 2, and 3 only - NOT BOOTABLE), through SAS3 switch card only

- RAID card has 128MB of write cache, SuperCap backup, Aspen LSI based
- Part Number 7085209
- The card will be installed in PCIe slot 6 at the factory and cabled to the disk back plane.
- The cables to the on-board LSI3008 will not be installed.
- NVMe Disks notes
- 8-port 12Gbps SAS PCI Express Switch HBA to support NVMe drives, in PCI slot 5 only
- NVMe Disks are not bootable
- Part Number7096186
- If four NVMe disks are installed, SAS disk in slot 4 will be the first bootable disk.
- Flash Accelerator F160 NVMe Card, 1.6 TB eMLC (AURA 3.0)
- External Storage Options Here (link pending)
Graphics
- Pilot3 VGA 1280x1024 60HZ 8MB Video memory built-in
