Purpose

Additional Information for Message ID: ILOM-8000-AF

Details

 TYPE: Hardware Fault.

          fault.chassis.device.sp

Severity: Major

Description

The Service Processor hardware is faulty.

Automated Response
If redundant SP's a Fail Over will occur, otherwise, the sp may crash.  The service required LED may be illuminated on the affected FRU or the chassis.

Impact
If redundant SP's (Service Processor) functionality will continue on back up SP, otherwise, the SP may or may not continue operation.

Suggested Action for System Administrator
The administrator should make arrangements to have the faulted FRU replaced.

If the system is connected via the Automated Service Request [ASR] interface, a service request should be automatically generated if the SP failed over properly or has continued to run.  However if necessary  Refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required.
