 TYPE: Temperature Fault

         fault.chassis.temp.over.critical

Severity: Major

Description

A component temperature sensor has exceeded the High Temperature Hard Shutdown Threshold.

Automated Response
The platform or the affected DCU will shutdown in a non-graceful fashion.

 

Impact
The platform or affected DCU will remain shutdown until the fault condition is cleared.  The fault must be manually cleared.

Suggested Action for System Administrator
The administrator should attempt to  remedy the situation causing the condition. Causes could be external air, inlet blockages, room hot spots etc are possible causes.

If the system is connected via the Automated Service Request [ASR] interface, a service request should be automatically generated.  However if necessary  Refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required.
