Purpose

Additional information for Message ID:      SPT-8001-LD

Details

Type: Temperature Fault

           fault.chassis.temp.external.over.minor

Severity: Minor

Description

An Ambient Temperature sensor has exceeded the high temperature warning threshold for more than two minutes.

Automated Response
The condition will clear itself once the temperature falls below the threshold value.

Impact
System performance may be affected until the condition clears itself.  No data has been lost.

Suggested Action for System Administrator
The administrator should remedy the situation causing the high ambient air input to the system. Since ambient air is from outside the platform, conditions such as, air conditioning, room hot spots, and inlet obstructions are possible causes.

If the system is connected to ASR [Automated Service Request] a service request should be automatically generated.   If a manual request is needed, refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required.
