Within the VSM5 product is an IUP (microprocessor) preference algorithm. In order for the hardware configuration to work well with the IUP preference algorithm the following recommendations should be followed: Details
VCF card population: In VSMs with only 4 interface cards (VCF cards), as in the VSM5e product, the VCF cards should be populated as follows: CU.1.VCF00,
RTD Configurations: Where possible, RTDs should all be configured on all the top ports or all the bottom ports of the VCF cards. Not all configurations can adhere to this RTD configuration guidance due to the number of RTDs being configured.
