Dear Customer,

Below you will find the actions you must take prior to and following the Oracle Field Engineer service action.  Completing these actions will help to assure a fast and successful resolution.

A link to relevant knowledge is provided to help you complete the required steps.  The documentation is intended to provide general guidance on the types of actions required, but may not include all the necessary steps for your specific environment.

Note: A data backup is not a prerequisite, but is a wise precaution.

Prior to Field Engineer service action:

       Light the blue Ready to Remove LED on the faulty target.  This will help the field engineer identify the proper component to replace.
    e.g.,
    -> set /SYS/target_name prepare_to_remove_action=true

Verify that the prepare_to_remove_action was successful (-> show /SYS/target_name health).  If health does not indicate Offline contact Oracle Services for assistance.  It may take several minutes for the removal action to complete.

Note: Usually the Power Supplies and Fans are hot-swappable.  These components are only hot-swappable in redundant conditions.

Following the Field Engineer service action:

       No Customer Activity is required for hot-swappable device replacement.
