Dear Customer,

As per our agreement, below you will find the actions you need to take prior to and after the Oracle Field Engineer intervention.

We are providing the link to Knowledge that may help you to complete the required steps. The docs are not tied to your specific environment but are meant to provide general guidance on the type of actions required.

Prior to Field Engineer service actions:

Note: Hot-Pluggable devices (such as disks) can be removed and installed while the system is running, but require certain Solaris commands (admin tasks) to complete the operation. When replacing a disk, the operating system should be configured by the customer such that the disk drive is free for replacement, e.g. the disk may be part of Solaris Volume Manager, Veritas Volume Manager, mounted file-system, raw partitions, etc. A data backup is not a prerequisite but is a wise precaution.

Note: When replacing a drive that is part of a RAID volume (V215/V245 only)

Troubleshooting RAID boot issues on V215/V245, V440/V445, T1000/T2000 (Doc ID 1002929.1)

Following the Field Engineer service actions:

Reconfigure the drive into the server as previously configured (part of a RAID volume, SVM volume, mounted file system, etc).  For V215/V245 refer to:

Document: 1007005.1 How to activate a RAID volume on T1000/T2000, V215/V245/V445, T5120/T5220, T5140/T5240/T5440 Servers

Document: 1007109.1 Internal RAID controllers on T1000/T2000, T5120/T5220/T5140/T5240, V215/V245/V440/V445, Ultra 25/45 and Sun Blade T6300/T6320/T6340
