Symptom

Resolution/Workaround

Solaris panic

FMA(fmdump -eV) will show error report similar to

Mar 01 13:07:00.6156 ereport.cpu.intel.nb.fbd.otf

Workaround:

Update ILOM/BIOS firmware to latest version.
Add following entry to /etc/system
'set intel_nb5000:nb5000_mask_bios_fbd=7'

Note: Ensure all other entries relating to nb5000 are removed from /etc/system.

Server fails to boot with microcode error

Unable to boot due to the following bios errors after MB is replaced.

Error (0160): Processor missing microcode

Resolution: Update ILOM/BIOS firmware to latest version.
