Interface Ports
The interface port has an LC connector. You must use the appropriate interface cable to ensure proper operation of the drive. You will use a:
• 50-micron multimode cable with a short wavelength SFP module
• 9-micron single mode cable with a long wavelength SFP module
Cable types:
• OM2 Multimode cables (for use with short wavelength SFP modules):
• Orange outer jacket
• Maximum channel length:
• 150 meters at 4 Gb/s transfer rate (applies to T10000A/B/C drives transferring data at this rate and a T10000D drive that has negotiated this transfer rate)
• 50 meters at 8 Gb/s transfer rate (T10000D capability only)
• 35 meters at 16 Gb/s transfer rate (T10000D capability only)
• OM4 Multimode cables (for use with short wavelength SFP modules, especially at distances above 35 meters at 16 Gb/s transfer rate):
• Aqua outer jacket
• Maximum channel length:
• 400 meters at 4 Gb/s transfer rate
• 200 meters at 8 Gb/s transfer rate (T10000D capability only)
• 130 meters at 16 Gb/s. for Fibre Channel (T10000D capability only)
• Single mode cables with a yellow outer jacket (for use with long wavelength SFPs)
There are small form-factor pluggable (SFP) transceiver conversion bills to provide the customer with the flexibility to convert from the existing port type to a different port type.
The small form-factor pluggable (SFP) transceiver is inserted into the port socket of the drive.
