Reason: cores3 tools are internal only
Applies to:
Sun SPARC Enterprise T5120 Server - Version Not Applicable and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Purpose
This lists how to run queries on metadata from explosum & snapper output on cores3 servers.
Details
The Explosum & Snapper tools gather hardware related metadata from an Explorer & ILOM Snapshot data. These tools are targeted for VSP products, but can be used on explorers & snapshots from other SPARC or X64 products.
File /share/summarytools/log.txt contains a log of Explorers & Snapshots that the tools were run against on the ISDE server.
These tools will also store FRU & event data for most platform types if the Explorer contains a valid date, Serial number, & if run from an SR directory on ISDE. Each server will contain it's own set of entries as shown below (Sample Raw Data). The first line contains a list of Explorer/Snapshot dates with the associated SR#. The second section contains a list of installed FRUs & associated FRU data like it's serial number. If multiple FRU data is listed, then the later entries indicate the FRUs that have been replaced/moved. The final type of data is the ordered event list of the last 256 events. This lists ILOM & Solaris reboots (listing FW version), ILOM FW upgrades, some ereports & faults, & kernel Warnings. This data is used in the timelines listed at the end of Explosum's & Snapper's Summaries which provides the TSE a view of combined Explorer, Snapshot, & older SR data. The db tool can be used to query this data.
The man page data for the db tool is as follows:
db Scan db for problems & sizes
db "?" Command syntax
db MultiFRU [matchString/Platform/Ser#/SR/date] [matchString/date] [matchString]
List Systems with multiple FRU replacements
db Replaced [matchString/Platform/Ser#/SR/date] [matchString/date] [matchString]
List Systems/FRU replacements
db ListFRU [matchString/Platform/Ser#/SR/date] [matchString/date] [matchString]
List a System's FRUs [List only matching strings/params]
db FRU Platform/FRUSer#/SR/fruType/date [fruType/matchString/date]
List FRU matches [or specific FRU] that contain parameters
db SR SR#/Ser# [matchString/date] [matchString/date]
List systems that are associated with SR#
db Chassis Ser# List all information for a Chassis Serial #
db Platform/Ser#/matchString [matchString/date] [matchString/date] [matchString]
List events with matching string
Notes:
1. Parameters are pre-screened for dates, SR #, Platform type, Chassis or FRU serial number.
If none of these, is then determined to be a keyword to search events.
All event related parameters are ORed (listed if one matches) for each event,
but all FRU, chassis & date parameters are ANDed (listed if all match).
2. Date syntax = yy/mm or yy/mm/dd or yy/mm/dd-hh:mm
If 2 dates input, the first is matches if an entry is older & if 2nd newer
3. Valid platform names are: T5120, T5220, N5220, T5140, T5240, N5440, T5440, T6320, T6340, C3260,
T3-1, N3-1, T3-2, T3-4, T3-1B, N31BA, T4-1, N4-1, T4-2, N4-2, T4-4, T4-1B,
T5-2, T5-4, T5-8, T5-1B, M5-32,
M3000, M4000, M5000, M8000, M9000, M10.1, M10.4, M104S
T4 or T5 will match all T4 or T5 platforms.
4. FRU names must be the same as listed in the Explorer or Snapshot including '/'s. The only FRU names
without '/'s are:
"MB", "FB", "SASBP", "MIDPLANE", "CMM", "RIO", "FIO", "RCSA", "SIB", "DBP", "PDB", "PADCRD"
"CM#", "PS#", "NEM#", "SASBP#", "P#", "HDD#", "PM#"
