Severity: Major

Description 

Too many SAS cables are connected to the IO Module (IOM) of a storage enclosure. One or more cables are incorrectly configured. 

 

Automated Response

None

 

Impact

Unsupported SAS cable configurations may cause unexpected system behavior.

 

Suggested Action for System Administrator

Prior to submitting a service request the storage/system administrator should perform the following SAS cable check:

  • Utilize the ZFS Maintenance BUI to identify the faulty SAS interface.
  • Review cabling diagrams in the online help or refer to the Quick Setup poster that shipped with the product. Also available is the Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance Installation Guide, located on the Oracle Technical Network documentation site.
  • Correct the cabling problem.
  • Verify via the Maintenance BUI the active fault has cleared
  • If the fault has cleared returned the ZFS appliance to normal operation
  • If the fault persists refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required
