Description

This fault indicates that an expected cable between storage enclosures is missing, causing some storage enclosures to be single-pathed.

Impact

Degradation and loss of redundant paths to storage enclosures. Resources may be removed from operation, system performance may be degraded.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

Prior to submitting a service request the storage/system administrator should perform the following SAS cable check:

Utilize the ZFS Maintenance BUI to identify the faulty SAS interface. Refer to example below:

Missing cable

Review cabling diagrams in the online help or refer to the Quick Setup poster that shipped with the product. Also available is the Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance Installation Guide, located on the Oracle Technical Network documentation site.
Correct the cabling problem.
Verify, via the Maintenance BUI, the active fault has cleared
If the fault has cleared, return the ZFS appliance to normal operation
If the fault persists, refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required
