Description

Sensors indicate that Real Time Clock (RTC) battery is approaching depletion.

Automated Response

The Service Required LED on the chassis will be illuminated.

Impact

The RTC battery, if not replaced, will soon become empty. Once empty, the system may show an incorrect time-of-day and log file timestamps will be inaccurate, making system monitoring and correct diagnosis of issues more difficult.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

The recommended service action for this event is to schedule replacement of the affected component(s) at the earliest possible convenience.
