Description

Fault due to I2C access failure to I2C devices on an link board in a PCI expansion box.

The devices that are accessible are:

- sensors:

- LED controllers;
- controllers:
- I2C switches;

- seeprom:

- FRUID SEEPROMs.

These devices can no longer be accessed or controlled by the PCI expansion box firmware.

Automated Response

No immediate action is taken.

Impact

Nothing is deconfigured.

Indicted Hardware

The link board in the PCI expansion box is specified as faulty.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

The recommended service action for this event is to schedule replacement of the affected component(s) at the earliest possible convenience. Although the hardware may be functioning, it is not intended nor recommended that the faulted component(s) remain in the system for a prolonged period of time.
