Description

Fault due to an unexpected trap with unknown cause was detected by a CPU chip on a PPAR.

This fault is detected by POST. POST indicts a suspect depending on which POST test encountered the unexpected trap.

Automated Response

The PPAR is reset.

Impact

CPU core(s), a MAC sub-chip, an IOC sub-chip, DIMM(s), a building block, or a PCI expansion box is deconfigured.

Indicted Hardware

Either the Motherboard (CMU or MBU), a DIMM, a PCIe card, or an IOB on a PCI expansion box is specified.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

The recommended service action for this event is to schedule replacement of the affected component(s) at the earliest possible convenience. Although the hardware may be functioning, it is not intended nor recommended that the faulted component(s) remain in the system for a prolonged period of time.
