Purpose

Provide additional information for message ID: M10-device.misconfig_ddc

Fujitsu fault code:

018AF010

Details

Type

Hardware Fault
   device.misconfig_ddc

Severity

Major

Description

A fault occurred where an incorrect DDC was detected.

The incorrect DDC was detected on a FRU listed below:

- MBU or PSUBP for M10-1;
- CMUL, CMUU or PSUBP for M10-4
- CMUL, CMUU, PSUBP or XBU for M10-4S
- XBUX for XB-Box

Automated Response

For M10-1 systems, when failure is detected on MBU or PSUBP, the platform is powered-off. And, the platform becomes unbootable.

For M10-4 systems, when failure is detected on CMUU, CMUL or PSUBP, the platform is powered-off. And, the platform becomes unbootable.

For M10-4S systems:

- when failure is detected on CMUU, CMUL or PSUBP, Ppar using the Building Block is reset, and the Ppar becomes unbootable.
- when failure is detected on XBU, Ppar using the Building Block is reset, and the Ppar will start with deconfigured one XB way.

Impact

For M10-1 systems:

- when failure is detected on MBU, MBU is deconfigured
- when failure is detected on PSUBP, PSUBP is deconfigured.

This means the platform is unbootable.

For M10-4 systems:

- when failure is detected on CMU, the CMU is deconfigured
- when failure is detected on PSUBP, PSUBP is deconfigured.

This means the platform is unbootable.

For M10-4S systems:

- when failure is detected on CMU, the CMU is deconfigured, and the Building Block becomes unbootable.
- when failure is detected on PSUBP, PSUBP is deconfigured, and the Building Block becomes unbootable.
- when failure is detected on XBU, XBU is deconfigured, and the Ppar using this Building Block will start with deconfigured one XB way

Indicted Hardware

Depending on where the failure is detected, the suspect is as listed below:

- MBU for M10-1: MBU is marked for replacement.
- PSUBP for M10-1: PSUBP is marked for replacement.
- CMU for M10-4: CMU is marked for replacement.
- PSUBP for M10-4: PSUBP is marked for replacement. There is also small chance that the problem is actually in CMUL.
- CMU for M10-4S: CMU is marked for replacement.
- PSUBP for M10-4S: PSUBP is marked for replacement. There is also small chance that the problem is actually in CMUL.
- XBU for M10-4S: XBU is marked for replacement. There is also small chance that the problem is actually in CMUL.
- XBUX for XB-Box: XBUX is marked for replacement. There is also small chance that the problem is actually in XSCFUX.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

The recommended service action for this event is to schedule replacement of the affected component(s) at the earliest possible convenience. Although the hardware may be functioning, it is not intended nor recommended that the faulted component(s) remain in the system for a prolonged period of time.

Refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required.
