Purpose

Provide additional information for message ID: M10-power.overvoltage

Fujitsu fault code:

01910d02

Details

Type

Hardware Fault
   power.overvoltage

Severity

Major

Description

A fault occurred due to a serious overvoltage failure.

Affected hardware:

- MBU or PSUBP for M10-1;
- CMUL or PSUBP for M10-4
- CMUL, PSUBP or XBU for M10-4S
- XBUX, XSCFUX or XBBPU for XB-Box

Automated Response

Action against failure is depending where the failure is detected as follows:

- MBU or PSUBP for M10-1; The platform is powered off and cannot be powered up.
- CMUL or PSUBP for M10-4 The platform is powered off and cannot be powered up.
- CMUL, PSUBP or XBU for M10-4S The PPAR, which includes this Building Block, is powered off.
- XBUX, XSCFUX or XBBPU for XB-Box The PPARs, which are using this XB-Box to form the PPAR, are powered off.

Impact

For M10-1 or M10-4 systems, the platform becomes unbootable.

When this failure is detected in a Building Block for M10-4S systems, the Building Block is deconfigured.

When this failure is detected in a XB-Box, the XB-Box is deconfigured.

Indicted Hardware

Depending on where the failure is detected, the suspect is as listed below:

- MBU for M10-1: MBU is marked for replacement. There is also small chance that the problem is actually in PSUBP.
- PSUBP for M10-1: PSUBP is marked for replacement. There is also small chance that the problem is actually in MBU.
- CMUL for M10-4: CMUL is marked for replacement. There is also small chance that the problem is actually in PSUBP.
- PSUBP for M10-4: PSUBP is marked for replacement. There is also small chance that the problem is actually in CMUL.
- CMUL for M10-4S: CMUL is marked for replacement. There is also small chance that the problem is actually in PSUBP or XBU.
- PSUBP for M10-4S: PSUBP is marked for replacement. There is also small chance that the problem is actually in CMUL or XBU.
- XBU for M10-4S: XBU is marked for replacement. There is also small chance that the problem is actually in CMUL or PSUBP.
- XBUX for XB-Box: XBUX is marked for replacement. There is also small chance that the problem is actually in XBBPX, FAN or XSCFIF.
- XSCFUX for XB-Box: XSCFUX is marked for replacement. There is also small chance that the problem is actually in XBBPX, XBUX or XSCFIF.
- XBBPU for XB-Box: XBBPU is marked for replacement. There is also small chance that the problem is actually in XBUX, XSCFUX or XSCFIF.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

The recommended service action for this event is to schedule replacement of the affected component(s) at the earliest possible convenience. Although the hardware may be functioning, it is not intended nor recommended that the faulted component(s) remain in the system for a prolonged period of time.

Refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required.
