Provide steps for system administrators to resolve PCP_EVT_REPL_CAPACITY_THRESHOLD_EXCEEDED events.

Purpose
Event PCP_EVT_REPL_CAPACITY_THRESHOLD_EXCEEDED is an indication that the MaxRep replication engine is nearing its licensed limit for the maximum allowable amount of data being replicated. The MaxRep engine licenses are issued and licensed to a MaxRep engine based on the total amount of GB being replicated by that engine. The primary purpose of the PCP_EVT_REPL_CAPACITY_THRESHOLD_EXCEEDED event is to allow ample opportunity to modify replication policies or acquire additional licenses before hitting the licensed capacity limit of a MaxRep replication engine.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Log into the MaxRep Engine UI
- Select the “Settings” tab and click on “License Management” menu option.
- Review the “Capacity Utilization” percentage and the “Capacity Utilization Threshold
- If the percentage listed under “Capacity Utilization” is greater than the indicated “Capacity Utilization Threshold” then the fault is valid. If the fault is valid, proceed to options below. If the percentage listed under “Capacity Utilization” is NOT greater than that which is indicated in the “Capacity Utilization Threshold” then the fault is NOT valid and contact the TSC.
If the fault is valid there are three options to resolve the issue:
- Adjust the Capacity Utilization Threshold to an amount greater than the current “Capacity Utilization” percentage. This will resolve the immediate alert, but will not address the underlying issue that additional licenses will likely need to be acquired to accommodate for future replication growth.
- Acquire additional licenses to accommodate the amount of data being replicated by the MaxRep engine. Contact an Oracle Sales Representative to acquire additional licenses for a MaxRep engine.
- Reduce the amount of data being replicated by the MaxRep engine to below the Capacity Utilization Threshold.
