Type: Hardware Fault

           fault.cpu.generic-sparc.chip-uc

Severity:
Critical

Description
This processor has encountered a chip-level uncorrectable error.

Automated Response

The system will attempt to retire all strands in this processor. 

Note. The last strand in any OS instance will not be retired.  Nor will other functions of the processor be retired (memory controller, IO, networking).



Impact
System performance will be affected.  This fault may cause a system panic or user process termination, with resulting interruption in service.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

The administrator should arrange to have the FRU containing the faulty processor replaced.

Refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required.
