Purpose

Avoid running this unnecessary script even for querying OVN Windows FW details. Sometimes vstat.exe and flint.exe used in this script (which may be outdated) causes Mellanox HCA QP flap in production system.

Do not use Xsigo Host driver Xg_FWUpdate script to flash HCA F/W OptionROM

Solution

Windows Xg_fwupdate vb script is available in two places :

1. Inside OVN Windows software host unzip package (after installation, it gets found at C:\program files\xsigo systems\support\firmwareupdate

This package is used only for query, i.e. no burn option is provided in it. Not recommended to use it.

NOTE: Strongly suggest not running this unnecessary script even for querying xsigo FW details. Sometimes vstat.exe and flint.exe used in this script ( which may be outdated) causes Mellanox HCA QP flap in production system.

For checking what xsigo FW version running on host, always advise to run chassis CLI command to see the details. Or use step 2 tools to query this information on host.

2. Inside separate OVN FW burn package (this is separate than OVN Windows host driver package), you can get from the Oracle Support portal.

This package is always latest and well tested, It can used to query or burn OVN F/W package.
