Purpose

 To identify expansion cards from within the ilom and or snapshot and used in conjuction with

Sun x86 and x64 Platforms: Matrix of expansion cards (Doc ID 1374659.1)

Sun x86 and x64 Platforms: Matrix of Recognized Device Paths (Doc ID 1277396.1)

Details

 The document i divided into two sections

ILOM 3.1

Pre-ILOM 3.1 (nehalem machines only) using snapshot technique

1. For all machines using ILOM 3.1 or later.

from the ILOM CLI

-> show /System/PCI_Devices/Add-on/ -l all

/System/PCI_Devices/Add-on
Targets:
Device_4

Properties:

/System/PCI_Devices/Add-on/Device_4
Targets:

Properties:
part_number = SGX-SAS6-R-INT-Z
description = Sun Storage 6 Gb SAS PCIe RAID HBA, Internal
location = PCIE4 (PCIe Slot 4)
pci_vendor_id = 0x1000
pci_device_id = 0x0079
pci_subvendor_id = 0x1000
pci_subdevice_id = 0x9263

you can achieve the same from the ilom webUI

2. From ILOM 3.0 on nehalem based machine extracting the information from the snapshot

** the documents assumes you are familiar with the way to take a snapshot either via the webUI and or ILOM CLI *****

You need to take a full ILOM snapshot while the machine is at least on the bios level and then extract it.

If the the system is not powered on to a minimum of the bios/POST level there is no power for the IO bridge chip so we cannot extract the information from the attached cards.

Locate a directory called hostdiags and using your favourite editing/viewing tool check the file
