Provide additional information for message ID: DISK-8000-9H

Details

Type: Hardware Fault

fault.io.scsi.disk.merr.read_recovered

Severity: Major

Description

The message ID: DISK-8000-9H indicates that there have been excessive recovered medium read errors on this disk.

Automated Response

The device may be offlined or degraded. A hot-spare disk may have been activated.

Impact

If a hot spare is available it will be brought online and during this time I/O could be impacted. If a hot spare isn't available then I/O could be lost and data corruption is possible.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

The administrator should arrange to have the faulty disk replaced.
