Purpose

This document shows the meaning of the System LEDs on a Sun Fire [TM] SF-x8x0/Ex900 Server ( Serengeti/Amazon ) system.

Details

The system has three LEDs that indicate overall system status:

• Power
• Fault
• Location

   

System LED Functions

LED	On	Off	Flashing
Power LED (green)	System is powered on and one or more subsystems is functioning.	System is off.	N/A
Fault LED (amber)	Fault condition exists in the system (such as running without normal backup or component failed).	No fault condition present.	N/A
Location LED (amber)	-	-	Flashes on/off to help you locate the component.

 

System LEDs Status Codes

 

Power	Fault	Location	Code
Off	Off	Off	Normal system off condition.
Off	On	Off	Fault condition present. System not powered. Location LED off.
Off	Off	Flashing	Location LED on. No fault condition. System not powered.
Off	On	Flashing	Location LED on. Fault condition present. System powered.
On	Off	Off	Normal system  operation. No fault condition. Location LED off.
On	On	Off	System powered. Fault condition present. Location LED off.
On	On	Flashing	System powered. Fault condition present. Location LED on.
