Description
The message ID: USB-8000-57 indicates the fault management function running on the host system has determined a problem was detected in the USB device and the corresponding driver may not be able to recover the errors automatically.

Suggested Action for System Administrator
The following steps need to be performed by the customer to determine whether the USB device is faulty and the cause of the host token non-response condition or if the cause is a fault within the server. A service request should only be submitted if the results indicate the fault is within the server.
1. Refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required.

2. Display the detailed content of this event per the procedures in Section A of the above document to determine the suspect USB devices.
3. Remove the indicated USB device from the attached port and allow the USB interface to reset for 30 seconds.
4. Replace the USB device into the original port and retry the device operation.
a. If the operation fails go to step 5
b. If this corrects the problem, retain the event content collected in step 2 and continue use of the USB device. If there is another occurrence of this same event (USB-8000-57) within 30 days open a service request per procedures in step 1 and provide the collected data.
5. Move the USB device to another port on the server or to another server and retry the operation.
a. If the operation fails the USB device is suspect and should be replaced.
b. If this corrects the problem retain the event content collected in step 2 and continue use of the USB device. If there is another occurrence of this same event (USB-8000-57) within 30 days open a service request per procedures in step 1 and provide the collected data.
