Purpose

Additional Information for  SPT-8000-RA - Current fail.

Details

Type:   Fault

            fault.chassis.current.fail

Severity: Critical

Description

The message ID: SPT-8000-RA indicates that the fault management function running on the service processor has determined that the system is drawing too much current.

The system requires further analysis to resolve the problem. Follow the procedures described in the document referenced under "Suggested Action for System Administrator".

Automated Response

The system will be powered off. The chassis-wide service required LED will be illuminated.

Impact

The system may have permanent damage or this may have been a transient event. Further information cannot be determined until the system is powered on again.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

The administrator should arrange to have the FRU replaced.

Refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required.
