Purpose

Additional information for SPT-8000-PX - Component configuration fault.

Details

Type:  Fault

            fault.component.misconfigured

Severity:  Major

Description

The message ID: SPT-8000-PX indicates that the fault management function running on the service processor has determined that a FRU has been inserted into a location where it is not supported.

The FRU must be removed to resolve the problem.

The specific FRU  experiencing the fault can be identified following the procedures described in the document referenced under "Suggested Action for System Administrator".

Automated Response

The service required LED on the chassis may be illuminated.

Impact

The FRU may not be usable in its current location.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

This event is an alert intended to inform the user about a problem that is not typically associated with a fault in the product. Alerts do not normally require Oracle Services for resolution. The administrator should review the ILOM event log for additional information pertaining to this diagnosis, determine which FRU is affected and take action to have the FRU removed.
