Purpose

Additional informtion for SPT-8000-T5 - PSU configured with AC low-line.

Details

Type:  Fault

  fault.chassis.power.inadequate

Severity: Critical

Description

The message ID: SPT-8000-T5 indicates that the fault management function running on the service processor has determined that a Server power-on was attempted on a system where one or more PSUs have low-line AC input and will not be able to supply enough power.

Server will not be allowed to power-on, as PSU's will be unable to supply enough power.

Power supplies plugged into a 110-volt outlet will operate at higher loads and operate more efficiently.

Please see the procedures described in the document referenced under "Suggested Action for System Administrator".

Automated Response

Power-on attempt will be denied.

Impact

Server will not be allowed to power-on.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

This event is an alert intended to inform the user about a problem that is not typically associated with a fault in the product. Alerts do not normally require Oracle Services for resolution. The administrator should review the ILOM event log for additional information to determine the affected power supplies.

Should the administrator be unable to resolve the issue, use the following link for additional information for steps necessary to contact Oracle Service.
