Type:  Fault

            fault.scc.invalid

Severity:  Critical

Description

The message ID: SPT-8000-NE indicates that the fault management function running on the service processor has determined that the SCC is either missing or invalid.

Automated Response

The service required LED on the chassis may be illuminated. The SP network port will be disabled.

Impact

The Host will not be able to be powered on. Because the SCC provides the SP's MAC address, the SP network management port will be unusable.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

This event is generated as a result of inserting a FRU into the system and not installing the SCC on the replacement FRU.  In the case of FRU replacement the service engineer should be on site to resolve the condition.
