Purpose

Additional information for  SPT-8000-G3 - Battery failure imminent.

Details

Type: Fault

           fault.chassis.battery.fail

Severity: Minor

Description

The message ID: SPT-8000-G3 indicates that the fault management function running on the service processor has determined the real-time-clock backup battery is approaching the end of its lifetime.

The specific FRU experiencing the fault can be identified following the procedures described in the document referenced under "Suggested Action for System Administrator".

Automated Response

The chassis-wide service required LED will be illuminated.

Impact

ILOM and/or Host time of day may not be retained when power is lost.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

If an Service Request has not already been created, the administrator should arrange to have the battery replaced.

Refer to the following document for the latest procedures for displaying event content in preparation for submitting a service request and applying any post-repair actions that may be required.
