Purpose

This document provides additional Information for SPT-8000-5X - Power Supply AC Input Voltage Failure.

Scope

Details

Type: Fault

           fault.chassis.env.power.loss

Severity: Major

Description

The message ID: SPT-8000-5X indicates that the fault management function running on the service processor has determined that AC power is not present for at least one of the power supplies.

Loss of AC power indicates conditions external to the system has caused this event. This could be external  circuit breakers, power cords and a variety of other causes.

The  following the procedures described in the document referenced under "Suggested Action for System Administrator".

Blade Products Note:
Blade products report this event, which is diagnosed by the service processor in the enclosure (CMM). It is intended as an informational event (an Alert) for blades and should not by itself be considered an event requiring service.

Automated Response

The service-required LED on the affected power supply and chassis will be illuminated.  This fault will self clear once the AC power has been restored.

Impact

Server will be powered down when there are insufficient operational power supplies.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

This event is an alert intended to inform the user about a problem that is not typically associated with a fault in the product. Alerts do not normally require Oracle Services for resolution. The administrator take appropriate actions to determine the reason for the loss of AC power and restore the power.

Should the administrator be unable to resolve the issue, use the following link for additional information for steps necessary to contact Oracle Service.

PSH Procedural Article for ILOM-Based Alerts (Doc ID 1162995.1)

Blade Products Note:
This event is not a serviceable event for blades and should self-clear when the fan speed comes back within the specified range. However, should the condition be persistent, use the information from the above link in Section B Submitting a Service Request, sub-section Submitting a Service Request via the Support Center to request service.
