Description

An XSCF firmware process has unexpectedly terminated.

Automated Response

The XSCF firmware will be rebooted.

Impact

XSCF functionality will be unavailable until the XSCF has restarted.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

Schedule a repair action to upgrade the XCP firmware. Please consult the detail section of the knowledge article for additional information.

Details

An XSCF process has unexpectedly terminated.

The XSCF firmware is suspected to be defective, but there is a slight probability that the
hardware could be faulty and causing the process to unexpectedly terminate.
   
The version of XSCF firmware may need to be upgraded.

The XSCF firmware will be rebooted.

The recommended service action for this event is to verify the XSCF firmware version installed
and to upgrade to the latest version available.

   Determine the XCP firmware version installed by executing the following command:

      XSCF> version -c xcp -v -t

   Determine the latest XCP firmware available on My Oracle Support ( http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/systems/patches/firmware/release-history-jsp-138416.html ).

      If you have determined that the installed version is not the latest available,
      then proceed with upgrade process.

         Refer to the document entitled  "SPARC Enterprise Mx000 Servers XSCF User’s Guide",
         chapter 8,  "Upgrade of XSCF Firmware and Maintenance" for procedures.

      If the latest XCP version is installed, then proceed with the steps outlined below.

Step 1. Collect the fault message (use one of the following methods):

   Single-line fault message displayed on the XSCF console:

   Mar 20 21:40:57 san-ff2-21-0 fmd: SOURCE: sde, REV: 1.12, CSN: 7860000772  
   EVENT-ID: 50c0c068-2789-4173-b978-a3922e2b415c

   Complete fault message using 'fmdump -m' on the XSCF console:

Step 3. Collect a snapshot ( See document 2097446.1 - SPARC Mx000 and M10/M12 systems: Simple Instructions to Collect an XCP Snapshot).
Step 4.  Contact your Authorized Service Provider.
