- fault.chassis.SPARC-Enterprise.io.pci.gbe.fe
Severity
- Critical
Description
- A fatal error was detected within a Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) controller.
Automated Response
- The Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) controller is deconfigured.
Impact
- The domain using the Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) controller is reset.
Suggested Action for System Administrator

Details
- This message indicates a diagnosis of a fatal error within a Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) controller.
The domain using the Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) controller is reset.
SPARC Enterprise M3000 platform:
The GbE controller is on the Motherboard.
The Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) is deconfigured after the domain is reset.
SPARC Enterprise M4000/M5000 platforms:
The GbE controller is on the IOU.
The Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) is deconfigured after the domain is reset.
SPARC Enterprise M8000/M9000 platforms:
The GbE controller is located on an IOUA in a PCIe slot.
The Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) is deconfigured after the domain is reset.
The deconfiguration is not persistent across platform power cycles
or across Dynamic Reconfiguration operations.
The recommended service action for this event is to schedule the replacement of the affected FRU.
Step 1. Collect the fault message (use one of the following methods):
Single-line fault message displayed on the XSCF console:
