Oracle Communications EAGLE (Software) - Version EAGLE 46.0 to EAGLE 46.6 [Release EAGLE 46.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Description

Following a particular sequence of ENT-PCT and DLT-PCT commands on EAGLE running release R46.6.0.0.0-73.18.0 (or earlier) corrupts the PCT (PC & CIC Translation) table.

Occurrence

PC & CIC Translation (PCT) table on EAGLE gets corrupted if all of the following are met.
   1. EAGLE is running release R46.6.0.0.0-73.18.0 or earlier
   2. PC & CIC Translation feature is enabled (Controlled feature part number is 89303720x).
   3. There are more than one entry in PCT table for same Emulated PC and Real PC combination which meet all of the following conditions.
       a. Emulated CIC range of one entry is getting mapped to a higher Real CIC range.
       b. Emulated CIC range of another entry is getting mapped to a lower Real CIC range for the same Emulated PC and Real PC combination.
       c. Meeting additional conditions as per "Bug_28019664_Do_Not_Delete_PCT_Entry_Criteria" (document attached to this KM) while deleting one of the above entries.

Symptoms

Following symptoms will be observed if PCT table is corrupted
1. RTRV-PCT command retrieves an empty PCT entry at the end of the output display and number of entries displayed does not match with the "PCT table is (xx of 1000) 4% full" report at the bottom of the display.
2. RTRV-PCT command endlessly retrieves a specific PCT table entry in a loop. CANC-CMD command needs to be executed to stop the display.
3. Active MASP card boots on ENT-PCT command.

Workaround

1. If a particular PCT entry meeting particular criteria as per "Bug_28019664_Do_Not_Delete_PCT_Entry_Criteria" (document attached to this KM) needs to be deleted, then stop and contact Oracle support to evaluate options.

2. If the PCT table is already corrupted, please restore system from database backup taken before DLT-PCT command was entered.

Patches

Permanent fix is currently targeted for R46.5 & R46.6 Maintenance Releases.
R46.5 MR is planned for June 2018.
  R46.6 MR. Release date TBD.
