Oracle Communications LSMS
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Description

During the NPAC migration from Neustar to iconectiv, the SWIM Recovery will not be available until the end of the maintenance period.  SWIM functionality can remain enabled, but if the LSMS system was not up to date as of the switchover time, time based recovery may need to be enabled or time bounded BDD files will need to be obtained to bring the system to a current status.

Occurrence

The likelihood of encountering this issue is not very high, but the posibility exists for it to occur.

Symptoms

  • The LSMS recovery works in two modes (Time Based Recovery and SWIM).  The LSMS will not perform Time Based Recovery while SWIM is enabled.
  • If the SWIM recovery is enabled in the LSMS before the migration, then it will remain enabled on LSMS through the transition.
  • The iconectiv NPAC will support SWIM requests from the LSMS, but the SWIM queue at their end might be empty so the LSMS will not get any data during recovery.
  • Any provider without SWIM enabled will receive the updates via Time based recovery.
  • If the Service Provider and/or iconectiv finds that some updated were missed,  time bounded BDD file for the needed updates should be requested.
