Description

If upgrading the Eagle to target release 46.3 or 46.4, the CGPCACTION parameter values in GTA entries which are configured other than to default value "dflt" will get reset to default value "dflt" after the upgrade. Hence it may cause traffic impact on EAGLEs containing GTA entries with non-default "CGPCACTION" parameter values (if the particular GTA entry is handling specific traffic which requires a non-default "CGPCACTION" value to handle it correctly) during upgrade phase 3 and until the GTA entries are set back with appropriate "CGPCACTION" parameter value.

Occurrence

This problem may occur if all of the following conditions are true.

EAGLE is being upgraded to target release 46.3 or 46.4.
GTA entries are configured with the "CGPCACTION" parameter values other than to default value "dflt" i.e. "ignore" or "remove".

Below sample capture shows GTA entries with CGPCACTION as remove, ignore, dflt.

Symptoms

Before upgrade GTA entries present with CGPCACTION parameter values remove or ignore.

Post upgrade GTA entries earlier present with CGPCACTION parameter values ignore or remove changed to default value dflt.

Workaround

Prior to upgrade execute these commands rtrv-gta:gttsn=<gttset_name>:CGPCACTION=ignore ; rtrv-gta:gttsn=<gttset_name>:CGPCACTION=remove and prepare the list of GTT entries for which CGPCACTION parameter will be getting reset to default value "dflt" after the upgrade. After successful completion of upgrade, execute chg-gta:gttsn=<gttset_name>:gta=<>:egta=<>:CGPCACTION=<pre-upgrade value> command to reconfigure such GTT entries with the pre-upgrade CGPCACTION values.
If there are such entries present before the upgrade then such traffic may be stopped for the upgrade period.

1. It will be fixed in EAGEL 46.5. Planned GA 11 July 2017.
