Solution Type Sun Alert Sure Solution 2189704.1 : Upgrade Using CardSet Method May Fail When Having E5APP-B Cards or Telco Switches Provisioned in EAGLE DB
In this Document
Applies to:Oracle Communications EAGLE (Software)Information in this document applies to any platform. DescriptionEAGLE upgrade using CardSet method may fail if E5APP-B cards or telco switches are provisioned in EAGLE DB using "ent-card" command. This KM document does not apply to the systems that have E5APP-B cards or telco switches inserted into shelves but not entered in EAGLE DB.
OccurrenceSoftware upgrade of EAGLE may fail when the following conditions are true:
E5APPB cards or telco switches do not connect to the IMT bus. These are entered into the system using "ent-card" command for reserving card slot and shelf power budgeting.
SymptomsUpgrade may fail during phase 0 as shown below: > ACT-UPGRADE:ACTION=CONVERTSTP:SRC=FIXED E3503 Cmd Rej: Card Configuration is inconsistent with Card Set List eagle3 16-09-29 13:20:18 EST EAGLE5 46.2.0-67.10.0 Upg Phase 0 eagle3 16-09-29 13:20:18 EST EAGLE5 46.2.0-67.10.0 Upg Phase 0 Command Failed: Card Configuration is inconsistent with Card Set List.
WorkaroundBefore starting the upgrade delete any E5APP-B cards or telco switches entered into EAGLE DB and then perform upgrade. After completion of the upgrade, E5APP-B cards and telco switches shall be entered into EAGLE DB using "ent-card" command. The actual E5APP-B cards or telco switches do not need to be removed from Eagle frame. Hence there is no functional impact.
