Oracle Communications EAGLE (Software) - Version EAGLE 40.x to EAGLE 46.0 [Release EAGLE 40.0 to EAGLE 46.0]
Tekelec

Description

Following a review of the EAGLE upgrade process, it was determined that the benefits of executing an EAGLE Health Check 1 (HC1) are not sufficient to justify the level of effort required for scheduling and executing this kind of activity. As a result, Oracle will no longer schedule or execute such activities starting January 1, 2014.

Occurrence

 N/A

Symptoms

The decision to cease execution of HC1 activities before EAGLE upgrades will impact HC2 activities in the following ways:

  • When preparing an HC2 activity, Oracle upgrade engineers and customers will arrange an opportunity to test the remote access to the system in order to verify suitability for both the HC2 and upgrade procedures. This test will be performed 1-2 days before the scheduled HC2 activity.
  • HC2 activities should be scheduled four days prior to a scheduled upgrade. This is a change to the two day period recommended in the past.

Workaround

There are no immediate actions customers need to take.

Customers who would like to continue with HC1 activities have the option to perform the HC1 themselves following the Health Check Procedure documents found in the references below. Once completed, customers should attach the capture file in an SR for review.

  • EAGLE 5 ISS Releases 31.6 and later System Healthcheck Procedure: 909-0656-001
  • System Healthcheck Procedure Release 45.0 and later: 909-2256-001

Customers needing technical assistance at any stage during the lifetime of the Service Request should contact the assigned engineer.
