Impact Certain Brocade switches (listed below) may panic when monitored by host based SAN monitoring software. As a result, temporary loss of connectivity to SAN devices may occur. 2. 3. Symptoms Should the described issue occur, the switch will panic and reboot. Details of the activity will be logged in the switch internal logs and can be viewed after the reboot: "errdump" or "errshow" on the affected switch/CP will show entries indicating that rpcd terminated. [KSWD-1003], 1869,, WARNING, Silkworm24000, kSWD: Detected unexpected termination of: ''[11]rpcd: Alternatively, a "pdshow" output will contain details that rpcd terminated: Dead pid: 797, process: rpcd0 flags: 1348, pending sigs: 0 exit_code: 11, exit_sig: 17 parent_sig: 0 kSWD: Prepare to reboot/failover in a moment... The issue is triggered by a host based SAN/switch management application, retrieving link incident record (LIRR) information. 4. Workaround To work around this issue, avoid monitoring the switch using applications that collect LIRR information. As an alternative, Webtools and CLI are not known to collect LIRR information. 5.
