Symptoms

As described in the RFC3265 (chapter 3.1.4.4),
"Due to the potential for both out-of-order messages and forking,
the subscriber MUST be prepared to receive NOTIFY messages before the SUBSCRIBE transaction has completed." and this NOTIFY must validate the SUBSCRIBE transaction.

But when OCCAS 4.0 receives the NOTIFY message before the 200 Ok response of the corresponding SUBSCRIBE, it returns a "481 Subscription does not exist", rejecting the NOTIFY.

Cause

The issue is caused by the <>.

Solution

This issue was fixed via <> SmartUpdate Patch LADR, <> SmartUpdate Patch S4W2 and <> SmartUpdate Patch B7WH. But because SmartUpdate Patch VEZB includes SmartUpdate Patch LADR as well as some additional call state handling and memory leak fixes in addition, we recommend using this patch instead.

Which means that we finally recommend installing the following Smart Update patches to resolve this issue:
