Cause

The maximum calculated power for a frame is based on the cards that are populated in the system, and includes a fan tray assembly for every shelf (the system cannot detect the presence or absence of a fan tray, and assumes presence for the calculation).
These values are typically much higher than the actual power being drawn; the values cannot be used as a gauge of the actual power consumption of the EAGLE.

  Power Threshold Power Consumption
  Frame (Amps) (Watts) (Amps) (Watts)
  ----- ----------------- -----------------
  CF00 45 1800 35.70 1428
  EF00 45 1800 34.00 1360
  EF01 45 1800 33.66 1346
  EF02 45 1800 35.20 1408
  EF03 45 1800 42.49 1700 >>>>> The Power Threshold in Amps is Set to 45 and the EF03 power is reaching 42.49.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This means the power Consumption is reaching more than 90% (LVL1) of the threshold value, and hence we are observing the alarm.

Solution

1. A lot of non-provisioned cards where inserted in frame EF03. It is advised to remove those cards from system.

2. If the cards are to be used soon, we only have the option of increasing the power threshold. Use the following command to increase the power threshold from 45 to 50.

  chg-frm-pwr: frm=ef03:thrshld=50

43Amps will be 86% of 50Amps threshold and is less than the 90% Level1 threshold. The alarm will be cleared this way.

Issue resolved after increasing power threshold.
