Applies to:

Oracle SuperCluster M7 Hardware - Version All Versions and later
Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-4 - Version All Versions and later
7000 Appliance OS (Fishworks)

Symptoms

Extracting a ~200MB archive on a SuperCluster compute node (using /usr/bin/jar) used to take <10sec - after upgrading to Jan 2018 QDSFP for SuperCluster, the extract takes >20min.

Changes

Jan 2018 QDSFP was applied to SuperCluster.

Cause

Changes in Jan 2018 QDSFP upgraded /usr/bin/jar

Solution

Issue is not related to the ZFS Storage Appliance.

Extract testing of .war archive, using /usr/bin/tar locally on appliance and from client was within 10 seconds. This appears to be an issue using jar.

Workaround is to use '/usr/bin/tar xvzf archive.war' to extract the .war archive instead.
