Symptoms

Newly configured Aggregation Datalinks and VNICs showing in the UP state. No network cables setup up yet on physical ports.

Cause

Initial configuration of the Networking components.

Solution

 This is not a problem.

According to information from this bug:

21646085 - Aggregate datalink shows as UP when all devices under it are DOWN

"That the link state of the aggr and the vnics must be UP even though the

underlying ports may not even be cabled is by design. This is because the

VNICs must be able to communicate with each other through the internal

virtual switches even if there are no physical connections and hence no

connection to the outside world. This link state being UP is also valid when

there is only one VNIC, but the aggr is plumbed with an IP, because they

should also be able to talk to each other. So in Cu's case this is not a bug,

but a valid state."
