Cause
This is a hardware issue on the IPFE blade causing the problem with application
Syscheck and Alarm Events proves the hardware failure on blade
Solution
1. Taking IPFE to OOS:
a. Take IPFE-B2 Out of Service:
i. Follow Section 5.3 Set Target Server Blade to out of service >> Steps 1,2,3,4
2. Confirm No Traffic on Problematic IPFE:
a. Make Sure IPFE-B2 is not taking any traffic
b. Make Sure IPFE-B1 is taking traffic
i. Follow IPFE Replacement
3. Remove Problematic IPFE as "Preferred Active" from All TSAs:
a. Goto IPFE>Configuration>Target Sets
b. Select the TSA that has IPFE-B2 as Preferred Active and press Edit
c. Change Active IPFE from IPFE-B2 to IPFE-B1 (see screenshot1)
d. Goto IPFE>Configuration>Target Sets and confirm that IPFE-B1 is now appearing preferred active for all TSAs
4. Rectify the IP address for IMI Network on IPFE-B2:
a. Login to SOAM GUI using its VIP address.
b. Browse to “IPFE -> Configuration -> Options -> {Inter-IPFE Synchronization} -> {IPFE-B2 IP Address}”,
c. Use the drop-down list for {IPFE-B2 IP Address} to select “169.254.16.26”.
d. Click the “Apply” button.
e. Browse to “Status & Manage -> HA” and take IPFE-B2 from OOS to ACTIVE
f. Browse to “Status & Manage -> Server” screen. Click to select “bthpas12e1b15ipfe2b” and then press “Restart” button for IPFE application to pick up the updated IP address.
5. Confirm 5003 alarms have cleared for IPFEs:
a. Goto Main Menu >> Alarm & Events >> View Active and make sure no 5003 is present
b. If the 5003 alarms have not cleared, do not proceed. Contact Oracle TAC for assistance.
c. If 5003 alarms have cleared, proceed to next step.
6. Move TSA back to IPFE-B2:
a. Goto IPFE>Configuration>Target Sets
b. Select the IFPE-A2 and press Edit
c. Change Preferred Active IPFE from IPFE-B2 to IPFE-B1 for the TSAs that were switched in step 2.
7. Confirm traffic for the TSAs associated with ipfe2b (as preferred active) have moved back to ipfe2b.
8. If TSAs traffic have not moved back to ipfe2b then Contact Oracle TAC for assistance
